Security Problem

To whom it may concern:

Since the announcement of the University about having cameras around the area, I realized that security is a priority in life. But, do we have to violate the people’s privacy just to being in a safe zone? Well, I’d probably say yes, but not in this case. I don’t think we need a “Big Brother” in the University … Walking through to the UAT, I realized that most of the robberies are having part out of the school. So maybe the problem isn’t “in” the school, really.

According to this, I took the time to write some points and let you know the advantages of not having this “new” system of vigilance.
First of all, being watched all the time is a violation of the students and professors liberty. Why is this? Because it is unfair the fact of supervise people without their concern. People like me, doesn’t like to report what we do, everytime! For example; If I go to the restroom in the CELLAP, I’ll not been comfortable if I know that someone is watching me there.

In addition to this, it’s way too expensive this vigilance provided that the University can finance this all renovation by itself. I don’t think it’s worthy.
However, being under surveillance has his advantages, as having a record of the population on the UAT, in this way; you can find someone very easy. And so on.
Finally, I just want to make clear that whatever the decisions may be, I hope it would be the right for our security as persons. It’d be really considerable of your part letting us know your final decision.
Thank you for take in mind the student’s opinion. I’ll look forward to hear some news from this particularly case.

Sincerely,

Perla Berrones
